While historically, lawyers offer to store their clients’ wills for them, fewer lawyers are now providing this service, according to Jordan Atin.

“I think lawyers are starting to reconsider whether it makes sense to do this,” Atin said. “Many lawyers don’t want the responsibility of maintaining the safekeeping of it.”

This was surprising. Because the original will is such an important document we offer our clients the option of storing theirs in our fire-proof safe. It provides peace of mind and one less thing for them to worry about. I guess we are just old-fashioned that way.
